OPW & NPS staff graduate with Certificates in Public Procurement

Nine staff members from the Office of Public Works (OPW) recently graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology with Certificates in Public Procurement. The course was undertaken by six staff members from the National Procurement Service (NPS) along with OPW colleagues from the Furniture Division, Central Engineering Workshop and the East Region Drainage Maintenance office.

The course covered two modules including An Introduction to Irish & EU Procurement Law and Tendering & Public Procurement Operations. The objectives of the course was to provide a diverse and challenging range of learning experiences in which participants explored an appropriate body of knowledge to operate effectively as procurement buyers. In addition, it aimed to build the capacity to confidently deal with the legal process.

The course is ranked at level 6 of the NQAI framework of qualifications.
